Haiti - Politic : Deep concern of Economic Forum

On 27 November, the Economic Forum of Private Sector (FESP) launched an urgent appeal to the different actors of the electoral crisis and to the CEP to "take all necessary measures to ensure the legitimacy of the electoral process and contribute to the restoration of peace..." https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15908-haiti-elections-the-economic-forum-worried-launch-an-appeal.html

Since then, members of the Forum have been working tirelessly to try to bring the actors in order to achieve to the establishment of a President elected on Feb. 7, 2016...

However, in a statement dated Friday, January 29, "The Economic Forum of Private Sector expresses its deep concern at the difficulties encountered in the electoral process. It notes with regret that the constitutional order is seriously threatened. The stop of the electoral process leads our country in an impasse apparently without solution predictable.

The Forum takes note of the many proposals, sometimes contradictory, made by the various political actors and members of civil society. It considers that it is essential to preserve a situation prejudicial to the public and constitutional order that a constructive political compromise resulting from consultations and serious negotiations in good faith, is found between the Executive, Parliament, political parties involved in the process and civil society.

The Economic Forum of Private Sector is held available as in the past to contribute and facilitate this National Dialogue and compulsory as desired. It also urges the international community to scrupulously respect the solutions that come out of the National Dialogue."
