Haiti - Justice : Trial Clifford Brandt, postponed for a week

The witness hearings that began (after 3 postponement) Tuesday, February 23, 2016, in the criminal trial of Clifford Brandt without juries, among other accused of the kidnapping of the two children Moscosso in 2012 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-6982-haiti-justice-clifford-brandt-involved-in-an-abduction-case.html and suspected of being a dangerous and powerful Head Gang, continued Wednesday, February 24 at the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince.

During the trial the dean of the criminal court, Jean Wilner Morin auditioned among others the victim Coralie Moscosso and two other witnesses David Ernst Junior Boisseau and Jean Claude Innocent, in the presence of the 6 accused Clifford H. Brandt, Sawadienne Jean, Evens Larrieux, Saint-Fort Carlo Bendel, Carline Richemard and Pierreval Ricot on the 19 accomplices identified in this case (the other being always on the run)

The hearing was adjourned due to the absence of former Secretary of State for Public Security and former Minister of Interior and Territorial Communities, under the Martelly administration, Réginald Delva, called to the witness bar by Judge Morin, who considers his testimony as important in this case. A view that did not share the defense, who tried vigorously to exclude Delvas as witness, because of his biased and hateful declarations, made on a radio station of the capital on February 18 where he was substituted to the judges by convicting in its own way their client, according to lawyers of Clifford Brandt.

Demand finally rejected by Judge Morin, who in his arrested suspended the hearing until 29 February at 10:00 am and asked the prosecution to take all measures to bring the witness Réginald Delva in court.
