Lyonel Valbrun, the Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development and Elie Arius President of the Haitian nonprofit Organization "Promotion for Development" (PROMODEV), have signed a declaration of intent lay down a number of topics for future cooperation that will contribute to the common goals outlined in the declaration of intent and that could serve as the basis of an action plan including :

• The establishment of a call center (code: 8181) at the service of producers and other actors involved in the agricultural sector in Haiti ;

• The strengthening of the program "Allo Agro" already launched on the air of Radio Lumières and on local and community radio stations ;

• The improvement of exchanges on expertise, training, standards and scientific advice in order to offer proximity services for technical assistance to the Haitian producers ;

• LThe reinforcement of the Agricultural Library and of Multi Media Centre;

• The establishment of an exchange mechanism devoted to youth issues, regarding their integration and participation in the process of rural development in Haiti.
