Haiti - Politic : The Minister Albert to the Socioeconomic Forum of Young

Saturday at the Multipurpose Training Centre (Ranch of the Croix-des-Bouquets), Jimmy Albert, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, accompanied by its Director General, Jean Max St Albin and of Director of Youth and Integration (DJI) Woodly Simon, participated in the Forum on the socioeconomic situation of young people.

This forum brought together over 250 participants allowed the young of Kenskoff, Cavaillon, Saint Michel de l’Attalaye and Thomazeau to share the results of the workshops, "Focus Group" and interviews conducted in their respective commune on the themes: the social inequalities and injustice; citizenship and active participation of young people; rural migration and social mobility and finally the socio-economic situation of young people.

After of interventions on their commune, the various participants deepened their reflections in workshops led by monitors of the DJI.

In his speech, the Minister Albert advised young people to believe in their potential and abilities, to take their studies eriously in order to ensure their future and avoid to be led in destructive practices.

Note that this forum to which was also attended theater troops and grassroots organizations operating in the sector of food security and sustainable socio-economic development, was funded primarily by the Canadian NGO OXFAM.
