Thursday, Aviol Fleurant the new Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, paid a visit to the National Geospatial Information Centre (CNIGS), during which he met with the Director General Boby Emmanuel Piard and several other technicians around the achievements and projects of this important entity of the Ministry.

This visit was also an opportunity for the Minister to congratulate the CNIGS technicians for the important work in collecting data through thematic maps, on spatial planning, characteristics and land use, environment, agriculture, risk prevention of erosion, floods and other natural hazards.

According to the Minister Fleurant, the CNIGS is part, with several other institutions in the country, "of the brain of the Republic [...] It is for the Haitian government, the technological tool as part of its rehabilitation policy and development of the country."
