Haiti - Diaspora : Samba Okan in the country to promote his new album «Holistic» 13/05/2016 10:31:46
This week, the singer, musician Haitian evolving in Mexico, Evans Cadet most known as Evans Okan aka "Samba Okan" came to Haiti on tour, to present his last album "Holistic" that promotes Haitian culture abroad.
At a press conference at the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) he explained "Our music has a new trend, a mixture of root, blues and Mexican music. But everything is part of a dynamic promotion of our rich and deep culture."
During his tour in Haiti, Evans Okan is accompanied by the designer Ruth Michel Dupoux, who shares his vision "Nou jèn men anbisyon nou gwo anpil, nou vize lwen e n ap rive lwen". She is the representative and artist's spokesperson in the US, especially in Florida.
Note that beyond music, Evans is an artist engaged in social activities such as among others "Educar paran cambiar" (educate for change) and internatonal campaign "The World toward Haiti", which aims to express the solidarity of the peoples of the Earth toward Haitians.
