Haiti - Justice : CSPJ very irritated by the recent appointment of the President a.i. Privert

Saturday, the appointment by presidential decree of Me Jean Danton Léger, Government Commissioner of the Court of First Instance (TPI) of Port-au-Prince as the new representative of the prosecutors to the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) caused a strong reaction of Jules Cantave, the President of CSPJ, that reminds [note: to the Head of State], in a note dated Monday, May 30 that "The Judicial Power, represented by the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) learned with astonishment through the press, that a new Councillor was appointed by presidential decree in order to represent the Prosecutors of the Republic https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-17592-haiti-news-zapping-politics.html

The CSPJ, met atthe extraordinary, believes it appropriate to recall, to everyone in general and concerned in particular that the mandate of a Councillor is three (3) years under Article 8 of the Law of 13 November 2007 creating the CSPJ.

In addition, the CSPJ has the duty to draw public attention to the content of Article 10 of the Act stating 'Members Magistrates of the Superior Council of the Judiciary can not be nominated to another judicial post, even tied, throughout the exercise of their mandate to the Council, except to resign prior to the appointment procedure."

In summary, the Judicial power is very irritated by the decisions [legal or not] of the provisional President Jocelerme Privert, who apparently forgot the existence of the Judicial Power, the third constituent power inseparable from the State.
