Haiti - Social : 5th edition of the IYF Youth Camp
Nearly 1,200 young people from Cité Soleil, Solino, Corail, Canaan, Jérusalem, Croix-des-Bouquets, Delmas participate to the Polyvalent Training Centre of the Croix-des-Bouquets, since Saturday to the 5th edition of Camp organized by the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) and the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC).
Supervised by 300 Haitian and foreign volunteers members of the IYF, youth participate in rotation to the 25 workshops offered during the two-day event, learning enthusiastically the basics including singing, dance, theater or Tae Kwon Do and the rudiments of English through these recreational activities.
Always concerned about all initiatives aimed the mentoring of Haitian youth, the Minister Abel Nazaire, currently in New Jersey alongside the Grenadiers for their last match against Ecuador as part of the Copa America https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-17703-icihaiti-copa-america-the-grenadiers-in-new-jersey-for-their-last-match.html , nevertheless wished to speak to distance to the young people, asking them to take advantage of this space of recreational exchanges by following the advice of volunteers of the IYF, stressing the importance of this camp that invites young people to change their behavior and the positive impact in their community.
This 5th edition, organized with the support of the Haitian Red Cross, continues this Sunday, June 12, 2016 in the presence of Jean Bauvais Dorsonne, the Minister of National Education.
