Haiti - Technology : Natcom offers its customers to test for free the true 4G-LTE

For almost two years, the Natcom mobile phone company in Haiti update its network and equipment to offer customers the true 4G-LTE. However, the regulatory body for communications in Haiti, the National Council of Telecommunications (CONATEL), not having yet granted 4G license in Haiti, Natcom has received only a test authorization covering six metropolitan areas: Delmas, Petion-ville, City Centre, Carrefour, Tabarre and Plaine du Cul-de-sac.

Also Natcom, waiting for CONATEL decided to sell 4G licenses in Haiti (one of the few Caribbean countries not to exploit the 4G), informs its customers, that as of Friday, June 24, 2016, it will be able to visit the branches of Petionville and Turgeau to get for FREE their new 4G-LTE SIM card, enabling them to navigate without additional fees at high speed for 1 month (test period), provided the user has a phone supporting 4G-LTE speed.

4G is the mobile network called of 4th generation. The 4G network of Natcom using LTE technology (Long Term Evolution) and offers access to high speed, which can be up to 100 megabits / second. A rate comparable to that of the optical fiber to home. The benefits of 4G are directly related to access data on a mobile device including: faster download of data at a rate five times faster than 3G, access to streaming video without latency and higher quality video communications.
