The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) informs that on Monday started the communication campaign around the new school year with as primary tool the 2016-2017 school calendar, following the instructions of the Minister Dorsonne.

The opening of classes is set at Monday, 5 September 2016. The 2016-2017 school calendar has 186 days of class and 9 days off, 930 hours of instruction for the fundamental and 1,116 for secondary. The academic year ends June 30, 2017.

The Minister Dorsonne indicates that the cap is put on the 2016-2017 school year, scheduled on September 5 that he has already passed instructions to the Director General for the monitoring of certain measures.

The minister said that "the electoral period could have negative impacts on the learning time," hence, he emphasizes the need to reopen school doors in the first week of September.

continuing and the results should be published on August 10, originally scheduled date unless new delay.
