According to a study of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) presented by Fernando César Ferreira, Executive Secretary of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), in Latin America, nearly 30 million people are still living without electricity, including at the top 7.5 million in Haiti, followed by Argentina (2.1 million), Bolivia (1.8 million), Brazil (1.7 million), Colombia (1.7 million) and Guatemala (1.6 million) among others... Fernando César Ferreira, stated that the lack of access to electricity in the most affected countries, is mainly due to lack of infrastructure and not to the cost of energy.
