Haiti - Security : Formal denial of the PNH

Wednesday, in a note, the General Directorate of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) provides a formal denial to a persistent rumor circulating on social networks reporting the resignation of certain members of the High Command of the PNH whose the Director General Michel-Ange Gédéon.

"The HNP has the duty to remember that, despite the precariousness of its resources, the PNH remains and will remain committed to its noble mission of protecting life and property in strict compliance with the Constitution and laws of the Republic.

[...] It hopes that those who engage in these acts of manipulation of public opinion pull themselves together to avoid causing new harm to a people who have already suffered too much.

While commending the courage of the Haitian people after the passage of the devastating hurricane, the General Directorate of the National Police calls all citizens to be vigilant at a time when cyber crime is used as a destabilizing weaponeverywhere around the world."
