Haiti - Economy : ADIH concerned about the situation in the Great South

Georges B. Sassine, President of the Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH) is "very concerned" about the extent of damage caused by the passage of Matthew hurricane in the Great South the North West and all other areas of the country and presents his sympathies on behalf of himself and ADIH, parents of hurricane victims and to the people whose property was destroyed.

ADIH thank "friendly countries, particularly the Dominican Republic, NGOs and charitable institutions for assistance to victims [...] and the private sector and the State that allowed the delivery of aid to victims [ ...]

[...] ADIH urges the State to ensure that aid is not diverted by malicious and that the smugglers do not use this pretext to increase their illicit trafficking. It hopes that the State will do everything for that lost jobs, following the destruction of agricultural infrastructure, agro-industrial, industrial and commercial, can be recovered as soon as possible; for that a massive supply of seeds and other agricultural inputs will be needed."

To keep existing jobs, the Association recommends that institutions and individuals who help are sourcing locally and "appeal to the wisdom of institutions and politicians to unite to face the great challenges following this massive destruction of the Great South the North West of Haiti and all other areas of Haiti."
