Haiti - Matthew : About 500 km of rehabilitated roads in the Great South

Following the passage of Hurricane Matthew, the Ministry of Public Works has already rehabilitated 206.4 kilometers of road affected out of 350 km in the Southeast department and 257.9 km out of 296 km in the Grand'Anse.

Most blocked roads were rehabilitated, including the route Jérémie-Cayes, which notably facilitates the distribution of aid.

The ports are mostly functional and allow the docking of larger vessels particularly in the department of Grand'Anse.

However, in the Grand'Anse, the roads 25 and 151 are still inaccessible to trucks. Cleaning work continues at Les Cayes and on the section between Roche-à-bateau and Tiburon.

Recall that the Government has facilitated the delivery of humanitarian aid by allowing navigation and docking in Haitian waters to foreign ships bringing humanitarian aid as part of the response to the passage of Matthew.
