Garry Desrosiers denied reports that circulated in the national and international press, according to which, detainees would have seized weapons that were in the prison, stating that only a 12-gauge shotgun can not be found at this time.

He confirms the assessment of 2 deceased during this escape : the head of post, Fritz-Gérald Fanéus (52) and an inmate, Rood Roméo, ho would be killed by falling from a wall while trying to flee and 2 officers of the PNH injured.

The inspector Desrosiers also indicated that an Agent III whose he has not disclosed the identity, who worked at the prison was placed in isolation suspected of complicity. Adding that all the other police officers who were serving at the time of the tragedy, are currently being investigated by the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ). On the side of the Inspector General, administrative investigations are underway to find out if the escape is the cause of serious negligence or maladministration.

He confirmed that a detainee Yvener Carélus is interrogated by police and suspected of being the intellectual author of this escape and that the prisoner could also be involved in the death of Fritz-Gérald Fanéus

Finally, he categorically denied the images circulating on social networks suggesting that already controlled inmates have been shot dead by police, he says he is a manipulation aimed at discrediting the PNH.

The inspector Desrosiers on the sidelines of the press conference said that of the 162 prisoners on the run, 20 are considered very dangerous criminals sentenced to lengthy prison terms, citing : Étienne Jonas, Dupont Jennson, Jean Baby, Fortunat, David Mackenson and Douyon Peterson...

Recall that whoever provides shelter or assistance to an escaped prisoner will be arrested for complicity.
