Haiti - Epidemic : Fidel Castro, keeps its commitments

A new medical contingent of 65 people, including 13 from the Latin American School of Medicine, arrived Friday in Haiti. These reinforcements are part of the commitments made by the head of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro on November 27 to send 300 doctors, nurses and health technicians additional, to bring to 1,200 Cuban medical staff in Haiti to fight against the cholera epidemic.

This contingent is composed primarily of nurses, who were greeted on arrival by Dr. Lorenzo Somarriba, general coordinator of the Cuban Medical Brigade.

Recall that the December 4th, the medical cooperation Cuba-Haiti, has celebrating its 12th anniversary. During these numerous years, thousands of Cuban health professionals have served in Haiti.
