On Friday the dangerous gang leader Jean Hilaire Ladouceur, alias "Lèlè", actively sought for his involvement in the assassination of Rigaud Claude Clermont, a young police officer of 24 years of Pétion-ville https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19501-haiti-security-a-young-24-year-old-police-officer-savagely-assassinated.html was shot dead during a shootout in Cité Soleil.

According to a police source "Lélé" tried to take refuge in Cité Soleil to escape the police and would have meet a strong opposition of a Gang to Soleil 17, which would have refused to hide him. A confrontation followed, which ended with an exchange of shots in which "Lélé" was killed.

In addition, as part of the assassination of Rigaud Claude Clermont, the National Police of Haiti (PNH) arrested two members of the "Lélé" gang : Maxonne Jean Louis and Régine Guillaume. The policeman Clermont's service weapon was found in the possession of one of the two men. During their interrogation, the two members of the Gang would have confessed their participation in the assassination of the young police officer.
