The CESFRONT (Cuerpo Especializado de Seguridad Fronteriza) informs that it has seized in the course of several control operations, nearly two tonnes of garlic (200 bags) at the Dominican border, that Haitians and Dominicans had tried to smuggle from Haiti via Montecristi and Dajabón.

General Frugis Martinez, Chief of CESFRONT said that the smuggled garlic had been found at the control points of vehicle from Haiti. He specified that this merchandise was intended for various commercial establishments in Dajabón, Montecristi and other places in the border area.

During these operations General Martínez also said he seized many motorcycles that had been stolen and detained several dozens of illegal Haitians who were trying to enter the Dominican and seized the vehicles that transported these illegal migrants.
