According to Article 171.1 of the Electoral Decree of 2 March 2015, the Provisional Electoral Council has announced the preliminary results of elections of Boards of Communal Sections (CASEC).

In addition to the Internet, these results will also be available at the Electoral Operations Directorate, located at Route de Frères, in Pétion-ville, at number 133 and at the level of all Departmental Electoral Office (BED) and communal (BEC).

Resolution of the CEP concerning the tabulation of votes of ASEC and CASEC January 29, 2017 elections :

"The Provisional Electoral Council,

Having regard to the Electoral Decree of 2 March 2015 and in particular Articles 3.1, 62, 63, 66, 67, 71.1, 71.2 and 71.3,

Having regard to the Articles 138, 138-1, 156, 156-1, 162 and 162-1 of the Electoral Decree of 2 March 2015;

Having regard to the articles 137 and 137-1 of the electoral decree of 2 March 2015 dealing with electoral constituencies;

Having regard the provisions of article 243 of the electoral decree stipulating that 'Pending the realization of a new territorial division defining the communales sections of the urban areas, the elections of the members of the Assemblies of the municipal sections (ASEC) and Delegates of City to the municipal assemblies will be organized according to the division in force';

Considering further that, as stipulated in article 138, paragraph 2 of the current electoral decree : 'The CEP may establish more than two (2) voting centers in a communal section if the number or remoteness of voters justifies the establishment.';

Considering that in urban areas voters may vote for Delegates only in accordance with article 136 (e) of the electoral decree of 2 March 2015;

Considering that during the elections of the ASECs and CASECs of January 29, 2017, ballots of these elections were used in voting centers located in communal sections in urban areas;

Considering that the CEP has an obligation to correct this situation and to ensure compliance with the electoral decree of 2 March 2015 in force ;

After deliberation, it was decided :

1. To exclude the ballot papers used in polling stations in urban areas to vote in the elections of the Assemblies of the Communal Sections (ASEC) and the Boards of Communal Sections (CASEC) of 29 January 2017.

2. To declare the said ballot papers invalid and without effect and consequently will not be taken into account in the results of the ASEC and CASEC elections.

3. To instruct the Executive Director and the Director of the Tabulation Center to take all necessary steps for the immediate implementation of this Resolution."
