Haiti - Security : Fight Against Organized Crime in the Caribbean Region

Thierry Papon, Coordinator of the Technical Cooperation Support Program for the Fight against Crime Organized in the Caribbean Region (ALCORCA), posted at the French Embassy in Santo Domingo, traveled to Port-au-Prince recently to meet with the Haitian police authorities and prepare a seminar to be held from 21 to 24 March on the theme of Tripartite Border Cooperation between the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Jamaica, countries bound by security questions.

The ALCORCA technical cooperation program is focused on five countries: the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, Mexico and Jamaica. The ambition of this program is to create a common space, to set up a platform for exchanges, and to offer training on the topics of security and justice in the fight against organized crime.

In this context, the French Embassy Security Attaché in Haiti, the Divisional Commissioner Frédéric Ejarque and the Coordinator Thierry Papon were received in Haiti to the General Directorate of the PNH by Jean Miguelite Maximele, Chief of Staff of DG of the institution and Joany Caneus, the Central Director of the Administrative Police, and Miguel-Ange Gédéon, the Director General of the PNH. Which reiteratedall the interest he has in this program and instructed his chief of staff to select the highest authorities of the PNH so that they participate in this regional seminar.
