Monday in the commune of Chardonnières (Department of the South), President Jovenel Moïse accompanied by his Chef de Cabinet, Wilson Laleau participated in the ceremony to revive grape cultivation, through the project "Le vieux-Chardo".

In the presence among others of Mayor of Chardonnieres, Claude Méméus, the Secretary of State for Plant Production, Patrick Sévère, the CEO of the company "Le Vieux-Chardo", Alix Denis Hibart, of Head of the Unit for the Promotion of Private Investments in the Agricultural Sector (Upisa) in the Ministry of Agriculture, Agr. Carl Mondé and the leaders of the city, the Head of State, who welcomed the sense of union eExisting between the citizens of Chardonnières who contributed to this capital project, declared "I am ready to make the State serve communities. All that is needed is political will of all officials required to serve in positions. So I promise you all my support for the progress of this project and for the development of the commune," he also took the opportunity to make the mayors of the regions to reflect on development projects in their communes.

The CEO of the company "Le Vieux-Chardo", praised the objectives set by his company, both nationally and internationally. The grape represents, according to him, "a great economic opportunity, for Chardonnesiens and for Haiti in general" promising to support the marketing of grapes and their derivatives (grape vinegar and juice), in order to the needs of farmers in the South and the country as a whole.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and other international experts who have carried out several quality control missions and visited other grape farms for exchanges between Haiti and grape producing countries, grapes produced Chardonnières is of quality.
