Haiti - Agriculture : Launch of the National Agricultural Production Survey

The Ministry of Agriculture informs the general public and planters in particular that it will carry out a National Agricultural Production Survey (ENPA) for the autumn and winter 2016 campaigns from 8 to 31 March 2017 on the National territory.

This survey, carried out with the financial support of the Haitian Government and the Food Security Thematic Program (FSTP) of the European Union (EU), will enable the Ministry to collect reliable and relevant data on the production and livestock of main species exploited in the country. The survey will be carried out by the Agricultural Statistics and Informatics Unit (USAI). In the field, the USAI will be assisted by the Departmental Departments of Statistics (CDS) of the Departmental Agricultural Departments.

The results of this survey will be used by the State, NGOs, International Organizations, the University, associations, cooperatives, groups, farmers to make better decisions on policies, strategies and interventions in the framework for the development of the agricultural sector and the rural world.

The preliminary results will be presented in June 2017.
