Haiti - Politics : Jovenel Moïse promises $4 million to the Faculty of Agronomy

Monday, as part of a campaign to revitalize agriculture across the country, President Jovenel Moïse, accompanied by his Director of Cabinet, Wilson Laleau and Dean of the Faculty, Jocelyn Louissaint visited the Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine (FAMV) in Damien.

The visit, which took place in a serene atmosphere, was aimed at inquiring about the situation of the Faculty and collecting complaints from students. Aware that the development of Haiti is indivisible from that of its universities, President Moïse was particularly concerned by the points and promised an amount of $ 4 million in the amending budget, which should make it possible to provide some urgent responses, particularly in the construction of new buildings for the FAMV.

He also said that legal provisions would be aken to formalize the program "Kore Etidyan" and make some innovations, noting "The Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine, as well as other universities in the country, is a source of skills and knowledge. It must be used to revitalize our natural resources and the wealth of our soil. To achieve this, it is the duty of the leaders to work towards their strengthening."

Jovenel Moïse announced the departure, on May 1st, of the tour of the caravan of change in the Artibonite valley with the start of the drainage works at the level of this department affirming "This step participates in my vision of a Haiti self-sufficientimplying the reinforcement of all institutions related to agricultural development."
