Initially, the report on the documents tabled by Jack Guy Lafontant was presented, followed by lengthy discussions lasting 3 hours, raising doubts about his nationality, the fact that he had not paid taxes, on how he got his patente to practice... judging incomplete the work of the commission and demanding a series of missing parts.

"[...] because we do not have the capacity to decide on the choice of the Prime Minister, whether he has the qualities or not, given that this work was carried out by the President of the Republic which was made on the choice, the Prime Minister is therefore a Prime Minister appointed and therefore formed his Government, on this basis, there is only one way, and that is the constitutional way [...]" are the conclusions of the report.

A proposal to postpone the session to receive the ministers' documents was rejected by 5 for, 19 against and 3 abstentions.

Then at 9:06 pm the Prime Minister appointed read his General Policy Statement https://www.haitilibre.com/docs/declaration-de-politique-generale-lafontant.pdf afterwards the Senate observed a pause before the debates began which will be followed by the vote, surely in a few hours...

UPDATE 6h00 : This Thursday at 6 a.m. Senators are still debating on the General Policy of the Prime Minister appointed Jack Guy Lafontant, raising the shortcomings for their respective department, presenting their grievances... and the PM responding with new promises...
