Haiti - Justice : Attack of the presidential convoy, the investigation progresses

Tuesday, a joint press conference by Max Rudolph Saint-Albin Minister of the Interior, Jeantel Joseph Secretary of State for Public Security, Clamé Ocnam Daméus Government Commissioner to the Court of First Instance (TPI) of Port-au-Prince and Joseph Pierre Richard Duplan, Departmental Delegate of the West, gave an update on the investigation into the attack on the presidential convoy that occurred in Arcahaie on April 7 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-20605-haiti-flash-presidential-motorcade-attacked-moise-safe-and-sound.html

Commissioner Daméus said that the entire justice system has been mobilized to give a firm response to this unacceptable aggression and that all those involved in this attack will be brought to justice for their actions. He said that during the investigation, about ten people were arrested during police operations on 9 and 10 April in order to be questioned, stating that "[...] some are beginning to collaborate. This has led to good information leading us to new avenues, possibly leading to the identification of intellectual authors and performers [...]"

He explained that for the moment no track is neglected in this incident "Whether it is of political motivation, blackmail or some form of claim, it will not pass because the law defines the means to be used to make a claim [...]" said the Commissioner of Government.

In addition to the criminal sanctions, Daméus has raised possible administrative sanctions against agents of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) if it is proved that they acted with negligence or awkwardness.

For the moment no authors or sponsors of this attack are identified "officially" or into the hands of justice.
