Haiti - Politics : For a better integration of the diaspora

Tuesday at the Primature Stéphanie Auguste, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), met with the press about the commemorative activities of the National Diaspora Day (JND), which will take place around the theme "Advocating for better integration of the Haitian Diaspora".

For this year, three days of festivities will take place on 19, 20 and 21 April, and will be held at two venues: the Convention Center of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) Hotel Karibe Convention Center. These three days want to be a moment of reflection, exchanges and sharing of experiences between compatriots from outside and those of the country.

During this press conference, Minister Auguste stressed the importance of the financial contribution of the Diaspora, which represents nearly 25% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The MHAVE plans to organize this Wednesday, April 19th, the launch cocktail at the Hotel Karibe. Then, at the Convention Center of the BRH, an ecumenical Mass will be sung in honor of the Diaspora followed by a Diaspora Forum on Thursday, April 20th.

On Friday 21st, a visit to the diaspora village will be led by the Minister of MHAVE and an artistic and cultural evening will end the festivities.
