Thursday, in a press conference, Pierre Josué Agénor Cadert, the Minister of National Education, accompanied by his Director General and the Director of Fundamental Education, confirmed that everything was ready for May 16, scheduled for holding the diagnostic evaluation of learning achievements from 2016 to 2017, on the whole territory, for students in 4th and 7th Fundamental Year (A.F).

This initiative, funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), is not an examination that determines the transition to superior class, it aims to provide the Ministry with data on the 1st cycle of the fundamental school in basic subjects : Creole Communication, French Communication and Mathematics.

The ultimate goal is to enable the Ministry to improve the quality of learning in the classroom through teacher training and improvement of teaching processes.

2,183 public schools are involved in this evaluation, which will mobilize 3,147 test administrators, among others; 2,183 supervisors and 69 observers.

Two firms support the Ministry in this evaluation: the Haitian Institute of Education in Education Sciences (IHFOSED) at the national level and the International Assessment Association (IEA) for school performance.
