The General Direction of Electricity of Haiti (EDH) informs its subscribers of the Artibonite region including Estère, Marchand Dessalines, Grande Saline and others... that it was not able to supply them for reasons of technical order, due to fraudulent lines recently built by private individuals, depriving electricity subscribers legally connected...

To add to this, unidentified and unauthorized individuals make pirated connections on 23,000 volt lines, endangering the life and property of the artibonitian population.

The EDH reminds its subscribers that the Central of Gonaives valued at more than 20 million US dollars is the only one producing electricity to supply the Upper Artibonite. Do-it-yourself interventions and the poor quality of piracy lines disrupt not only the city's supply (general triggering for several days) but can cause damage and jeopardize the power plant.

However, the Company apologizes to its regular subscribers for the inconvenience caused by these cuts and informs it that technical teams will be ready to repair soon the Artibonite grid "Gonaïves-Drouet" intended to power the areas of Marchand, Estère, Grande Saline, Haute-Feuille, Petite-Rivière and ODVA. It also informs them of a plan for the upgrading of newly built grid and recalls that only EDH is empowered to operate and carry out interventions on the grid.

The EDH is once again inviting the public to collaborate with it by denouncing such acts. The assistance of each citizen is a duty and a necessity in order to protect the network.
