It is under shock and with great emotion that the football family learned of the death this week of Mrs. Marguerite Roy Vorbe, occurred in the hospital Bernard Mevs following a brief illness.

"The Haitian Football Federation salutes the departure of this exceptional personality for her great contribution that her and her family have brought to the football and the country in general. Madame Vorbe lived almost a century, a life entirely devoted to the country and to sport. Her husband, the unforgettable Engineer Jean Vorbe, was President of our Federation during the qualification of Haiti at the 1974 World Cup Germany, the new headquarters of our federation bears his name [...]

Mrs. Vorbe was the first woman Haitian sports educator, graduated in physical education from the national school of sports instructors and the University of Colombia in the USA in the thirties.

Also, to pay tribute to this great lady who gave so much to the country and our beautiful game, the FHF invites the Football Family to unite to pay a solemn homage to the famous missing.

For the occasion, the FHF asks the players of the clubs programmed this weekend in championships to wear a black armband and observe one minute before the kick-off matches [...]

The FHF is asking the football family and the clubs to participate and be represented at the funeral of Mrs. Marguerite Roy Vorbe, which will be sung on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 10:00 am at St Pierre de Pétion-ville church. The family also receives Friday, June 9 from 6 am to 9 am and Saturday, June 10 from 3 am to 6 am at the Hotel Karibe.

The flags of FIFA, CONCACAF and Haiti will remain half-mast at the FIFA GOAL Center from Friday until the end of the funeral next Monday."
