Tuesday, Branly Eugène, Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture, in the presence of Jean-Robert Estimé, Director of the Project "Chanje Lavi Plantè" (CLP), Michael Wyzan, Director of the Bureau of Economic Growth and Agricultural Development of the US Agency for International Development (USAID - Haiti), Sylvain Ngamy Commercial Director of the National Bank of Credit (BNC), of deputy of Pétion-ville Jerry Tardieu and several representatives of head of agricultural enterprises, opened a two-day round table (27-28 June 2017) at the Karibe Convention Center on "Improving access to financial products in the agricultural sector in Haiti."

Aware of the financial deficit faced by several agricultural enterprises and farmer organizations in extending and maintaining their activities, the project "Chanje Lavi Plantè" https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-14633-icihaiti-agriculture-launching-of-the-project-chanje-lavi-plante.html works closely with the Ministry of Agriculture and the BNC to develop solutions to improve access to financial products and modernize agriculture in Haiti.

To this end, a "Mechanism for Agricultural Credit Guarantee" (MGCA) was already set up, where farmer organizations now have access to better rates of interest through innovative financial products.
