On Saturday evening around 8:30 pm, a fatal accident occurred on National Road #1 at Villard, the first communal section of Dessalines, when a minibus linking Gonaïves and Saint-Marc collided with a broken down vehicle on the road, informs the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC).

The provisional record is at least 4 deceased persons including one woman.

According to the latest informations provided by the DPC, a new death is to be deplored, a man, was registered in the hospital, bringing the death toll to five. Four wounded, including two women, were treated at Saint-Nicolas Hospital in Saint-Marc, where they were transported urgently.
