Haiti - Security : Dismantling of a dangerous cell of a powerful Gang

On Tuesday, as part of a press conference, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Haitian National Police (PNH), Chief Inspector Gary Desrosiers, confirmed that PNH had dismantled ahad dismantled a cell of a powerful Gang operating in the commune of Arcahaie which, between August 31, 2005 and July 17, 2017, had been involved in at least 24 kidnappings and made more than thirty victims...

In addition, Inspector Desrosiers revealed that from July 1st to the present, the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) carried out 37 arrests for various crimes including, but not limited to, drug trafficking, rape of minors, abduction, sequestration...) During these arrests, the police authorities seized, among others, 201 kg of narcotics, several tens of thousands of Gourdes, 10 cell phones, several identity documents and 3 firearms.

Finally, he mentioned a significant discovery of 12,000 9 mm caliber ammunition concealed in a container, which was seized, stating that the owner of the container was actively sought after.
