In the framework of the Mondays of the press Agabus Joseph, the Director General of OFATMA / CONAM (Office for Accident, Labor and Sickness Insurance / National Health Insurance Coordination) presented a summary of the situation and the perspective of its institution.

Agabus Joseph, recalled that the OFATMA under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Affairs will celebrate its 50th anniversary on August 25th and that its mission was to manage the Workers' Compensation Insurance Program, Sickness and Maternity and the Self-Insurance Program for Public Service Officers, coordinated by CONAM, underlining "The mission of OFATMA revolves around three fundamental principles: Solidarity, Equal Access, Quality Care."

Recalling that OFATMA was present in the country through its three hospitals in Cap-Haïtien, Cité Militaire and Aux Cayes, he announced that a memorandum of understanding had been signed with other hospitals to accompany the insured throughout the country.

He also recalled the inauguration of a Dialysis service on 17 May at the OFATMA in the Cité Militaire https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-20972-haiti-health-inauguration-of-a-dialysis-service-at-the-ofatma-hospital.html , announcing that, with a view to having a national Dialysis network, two other services will be inaugurated, before August 15, 2017, in Cap-Haitien and Les Cayes.

Finally, he indicated that several other projects were being studied, such as the strengthening of OFATMA services in Port-au-Prince, the construction of a hospital center at the National Company of Industrial Parks (SONAPI), to the Industrial Park in Caracol and a third in Port-de-Paix, adding that by rationalizing its expenses, OFATMA planned to carry out much more social work.
