Haiti - FLASH : Sinking 23 survivors, 6 victims

A sailboat, surprised by strong winds, capsized, Thursday, August 17, off the Canal de la Tortue, causing the death of 6 people, all women.

23 survived the sinking of the boat, which connected the island of La Tortue and Port-de-Paix in the North-West.

Relief workers transported 3 survivors, whose condition required care, to the Immaculate Hospital of Port-de-Paix.

Search and rescue operations are continuing.
