Haiti - Security : 300 young volunteer brigadiers graduates

300 young community leaders, from the communes of Croix-des-Bouquets, Tabarre, Cité-Soleil, Port-au-Prince, Delmas and Pétion-Ville, recently received their diplomas of olunteer brigadiers after 2 weeks of training at the Pearl Academy of Viva Rio-Haiti in Croix-des-Bouquets in collaboration with the support of the Community Police.

Their training included crisis management and conflict management, first aid, community civic education, citizenship, the role of the police and risk and disaster management.

Pedro Braum, the coordinator of the Viva Rio-Haiti who recalled that his training aimed at raising awareness among young people and preventing crime in disadvantaged neighborhoods of the metropolitan area, congratulated these young people for the discipline they displayed throughout their training.

Divisional Commissioner Jimmy François, Interim Departmental Head of Community Police, hopes that with this training, these 300 young volunteer brigadiers will be able to help the victims and save lives, stressing that they will also be facilitators in the resolution of problems and conflicts in their respective communities.
