Haiti - FLASH : Laureates and performance of schools by department (Bac 2016/2017)

The Ministry of Education has just made available the list of the first laureates at national level and the laureates or each department as well as the performances by schools for the Ordinary Session of the Baccalauréat 2016/2017. The 2016/2017 bac in a few figures : The South is the only department to see a success rate above 50% (69.23%) and Grand-Anse holds the lowest success rate with only 23.92% At the national level : Number of candidates: 111,491 Admitted: 33,050 Adjourned: 42,867 Eliminated: 35,574 Absent: 27,011 Success rate: 29.64% A very low success rate at the national level, which had led speakers and participants to says of a workshop organized by the Government through the Ministry of Education in early August : that the Haitian school was in crisis and produced inadequate individuals with discounted training.
