Haiti - Humanitarian : Food For The Poor, ready for the arrival of IRMA

Immediately following the announcement of the category 5 Hurricane IRMA and the expected effects on various departments of the Haitian territory, in particular those of the North, North-East, North-West, Artibonite and Center, Food For The Poor Haiti has taken steps to help communities at risk of being affected by the disaster.

Thus, the Humanitarian Organization addressed the departmental delegations as well as the mayors of the various communes concerned, who reported on the needs in preparation for the passage of IRMA. They were directed to the Food for the Poor annex in Cap-Haitien and to the various Regional Distribution Centers in Gonaïves, Port-de-Paix, Hinche and Fort-Liberté. These centers were stocked between the days of 5 and 6 September, to serve the beneficiaries in an emergency. In addition, the localities of Mole St Nicolas, Bombardopolis and Baie de Henne will also be served in the days to come.

In order to relieve the affected populations as quickly as possible and especially to help the temporary shelters set up to deal with this hurricane, Food For The Poor delivered rice, peas, small millet, Vienna sausages and other canned foods. The institution has also placedin its centers work gloves, safety vests and other safety equipment, sanitary products, hygiene kits, sheets, rain boots and construction materials for distribution where necessary.

It should be noted that the departmental delegations will receive the most substantial rations since they have a direct link and a certain royalty to the inhabitants.

"Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more" Luke 12:48. Together we can do our best, being good workers at His Harvest recalled Food For The Poor.
