The candidate Jude Célestin (INITE) could announce its withdrawal from the election race shortly. This is what emerges indirectly from the remarks of the national coordinator of the platform INITE, Sen. Joseph Lambert "Different members of the platform will gather [...] we might think to a scenario of withdrawal of the candidature of Jude Célestin [...] the country is not ready for a new political crisis that may cost it the support of its friends of the international community"

However, Senator Lambert, said that "Nobody has the authority to ask Jude Célestin to withdraw, only Jude Célestin himself can choose in good faith, according to the analysis of the situation and depending of his perception of the crisis". He stressed that whatever the decision of INITE and of Jude Célestin, the Party will be winner of these elections [the governing party has so far a comfortable position in the legislative].

Sen. Jean Charles Moise, a prominent member of the platform INITE, has confirmed that meeting that will be followed by an announcement in the coming hours. Various sources, unconfirmed, suggests that several candidates in the Senate and the deputation would favour a withdrawal of the candidate Jude Célestin to avoid sanctions by the international community...

Many conditional in these statements. Even if the scenario of a withdrawal is possible, we will still await the declaration of the principal interested, Jude Célestin and the press release of INITE, for not succumbing to rumours conveyed by many Haitian media.
