Haiti - FLASH : Former PM Bellerive forbids leaving the territory

The investigating judge of the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince, Jean Wilner Morin, ordered on December 18 a departure ban against the former Prime Minister Jean Max Bellerive, "[...] saw the open and continuous information procedure against the named Wilner Valcin, charged with murder and corruption to the detriment of the Haitian State.

Whereas it is appropriate to the investigating judge to order the Director of the Immigration and Emigration Service to prohibit leaving the country by air, land and sea routes the aforementioned [Joseph Jean Max Bellerive].

For these reasons, order the Director of the Immigration and Emigration Service to take all necessary measures to prevent the interdiction by air, land and sea the named : Joseph Jean Max Bellerive to leave the national territory and that, until further notice; Let's say that this order is applicable from its reception

This ban comes within the framework of the investigation of the magistrate, Jean Wilner Morin on the assassination, in 2012, of Alix Mary Junior Gassan following the disappearance of Joseph Robert Marcello of the National Commission of Public Contracts.

Also Tuesday Judge Jean Wilner Morin heard the unfortunate candidate in the last presidential elections, Jude Célestin.
