Haiti - Social : Tribute to the Champions of the Diaspora 20/12/2017 08:04:42
At the beginning of the week, at a tribute party to the Champions of the Diaspora, in the presence of, among others, of Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant, the First Lady of the Republic, Martine Moïse, Max Roudolph Saint Albin, the Minister of Inside, Eunide Innocent, the Minister for the Status of Women and the Rights of Women and a broad public, Stéphanie Auguste, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) honored, 22 Haitians living in foreign lands as a sign of gratitude from the Government to those sons and daughters of Haiti who shone in a scientific, professional or artistic field or who contributed to the development of the country. In their remarks, Minister Auguste and Prime Minister Lafontant praised the dynamism and the considerable contribution of the diaspora to the influence of Haiti abroad "This distinction is a letter of credit for the beneficiaries who will continue to the honor and pride of Haiti in foreign lands," said the Prime Minister. These 22 diaspora champions each received a plaque of honor and merit. List of 22 Haitian champions of the diaspora : 1 - Smith Joseph (Mayor of North Miami) 2 - Mackendie Toupuissant 3 - Frantz Benjamin 4 - The couple May and Serge Parisien 5 - Alix Charles 6 - Jean-Marie Bernard 7 - Jean Monestime (Commissioner of Miami Dade) 8 - Skal Labissière (NBA basketball player) 9 - Nerlens Christmas 10 - Guy Alexandre, as postume (former ambassador of Haiti in the Dominican Republic) 11 - Sœurette Michel (Doctor of Laws) 12 - The Tabou Combo group, 13 - The Skah Shah Group 14 - Ron Dupras 15 - Alex Saint-Surin 16 - Dadou Pasquet 17 - Roody Joseph 18 - Alix Jean Jacques 19 - Fritzner Cedon 20 - Jean C. Alexandre, 21 - Mrs Carine Paul 22 - Frantz Jacques The cultural part of the evening was provided by the musical groups: Magnum Band of Dadou Pasquet and Mass Konpa of the Honorable Senator Gracia Delva and the musical performance of Jean Midol Alcindor, employee of the Ministry in his hit "Respe pou diaspora".
