Wishes from Civil Protection :

"Dear all,

In these times of reflection and celebration, we would like to extend our wishes for peace and security to every family and every community in the country. We take this opportunity to remind all of us of our unwavering commitment to supporting the Haitian people in both good and bad times.

This year, compared to the rest of the Caribbean region, the hurricane season has been lenient for Haiti, despite the turmoil experienced in the North. We have done our best to ensure the effective management of many adverse events, especially thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our tireless coordinators and volunteers on the ground.

We continue to work in parallel to provide the Directorate of Emergency Preparedness and the National Risk and Disaster Management System with a legal framework that gives them more flexibility and means of operation. We are increasing our contacts with our partners to develop new lines of cooperation, increase prevention efforts and strengthen disaster preparedness and response.

During this holiday season, we would like to warmly thank our national and international collaborators, the press and the sectoral institutions that have supported us in our activities: we want to continue doing better in 2018 by strengthening this collaboration and making it even more active.

We wish the general public a happy holiday season and a Happy New Year of 2018, while calling on it to exercise great prudence and vigilance as soon as necessary !"
