Haiti - FLASH : Shooting in the Champ de Mars, 2 dead, one wounded

According to Divisional Commissioner Berson Soljour, Departmental Director of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) of West, late Saturday morning, 3 armed individuals on motorcycles robbed, stripped and wounded in the leg a engineer who had just made a withdrawal in US dollars at a branch near the National Palace, before fleeing.

Agents of the PNH Motorized Intervention Brigade (BIM) stationed in the area intervened and pursued the bandits who tried to escape with the victim's money. Two of the three bandits fired on the police without hitting them, provoking a riposte of the police who mortally wounded 2 of the 3 bandits who died on the spot, the third having managed to escape with the money of the robbery. One of the two bandits was identified as Metellus Colby, his accomplice son could not be identified on the spot not having any ID.

The assaulted engineer whose life is not in danger has been taken to hospital where he receives the care that his condition requires.
