During several migratory regularity checks carried out on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, the agents of the Directorate General of Migration (DGM) seized on Haitians in irregular migratory situation, 178 falsified documents and real documents (belonging to another person, identity theft). All the bearers of these documents were taken to the border to be deported to Haiti.

Lieutenant General Máximo William Muñoz Delgado of the DGM said that the documents (138 cards of the National Plan of Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE), 34 Haitian passports, 4 identity cards, 1 Haitian identity card and 1 student card) xplained that the false cards of the National Plan for the Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE) were detected in using digital fingerprint readers and consulting the PNRE biometrics database.

Let's recall that hundreds of thousands of our compatriots in an irregular migratory situation on the Dominican territory, who risk expulsion at any time, are easy prey for the networks of counterfeiters of both Dominican and Haitian thugs, who enrich themselves by selling at a high price, fake PNRE cards or Dominican cedulas to our reckless compatriots who naively believe that they can use this device to foil a biometric verification.

Remember that these falsified cards (photo) that use the name of a Haitian regularly registered with the PNRE, lead to the expulsion of the bearer but also to the exclusion of the PNRE and the expulsion of the real owner if the latter can not prove that he has lodged a complaint and declared the theft of his card.

In the case of authentic documents not falsified in the hands of a Haitian masquerading as the real owner (identity theft, playing on the physical resemblance) the cardholder is expelled to Haiti for irregular migration and identity theft.

The DGM recalls that it will redouble its vigilance and in coordination with other state security agencies, to continue to detect falsified or false documents and to locate all foreigners in an irregular migratory situation on Dominican territory in violation of provisions of Law 285-04.
