A few minutes ago ended the joint press conference Michel Martelly - Wyclef Jean at the Karibe Convention Center in Petion ville. A lot of things have been said but the most important is the official announcement of the support of Wyclef Jean to the candidacy of Michel Martelly.

Michel Martelly has thanked his friend Wyclef for his presence and announced the launch of his campaign "Wyclef I want to thank you, thank you because you're with us tonight and with us starting tomorrow in the start of the campaign. In effect tomorrow, we'll be together in Cap Haitien to start the campaign, a campaign that will lead us to the final victory, a campaign that will be made throughout the country from North to South, East to West"

Wyclef sitting alongside the candidate Michel Martelly said "Now in my head, I see an opportunity to dream, if you can not dream you can not succeed. To see the dream become a reality there must be someone who tells you that the dream can become a reality. This is why you see me sitting here today, I am comfortable" A little later, Wyclef has added "for the future of Haiti we need someone who is not a politician" stressing that "the future in the world is in the hands of youth, the youth but with the wisdom of adults" To conclude with "I want the international community understand that my name is Wyclef Jean [...] and i'm endorsing the next President of Haiti, my good friend, but beyond the friend, a leader to the nation of Haiti, Michel Martelly i want to thank you" under the applause of the people in the conference room.
