Thursday morning, 95 agents and Inspectors of the Directorate General of Migration (DGM), divided into several teams, with the support of dozens of soldiers and representatives of the Public Ministry participated in a large simultaneous operation of migration control in the Greater Santo Domingo and the National District following intelligence work that allowed locating undocumented migrants.

The DGM teams used biometric readers to consult the institution's database and thwart the false cards of the National Plan for the Regularization of Foreigners https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-24051-icihaiti-rd-seizure-of-nearly-6-000-fake-documents-in-the-hands-of-illegal-migrants.html .

1,500 foreigners were screened and 685 people in irregular migration situations, including more than 600 Haitians as well as some Colombians and Venezuelans were taken to the Haina detention center for the process of identification, registration and deportation.

In recent weeks, the DGM has continued to intensify and multiply migration control operations in various provinces of the country, including in remote areas, to locate illegal aliens who violate the provisions of the Migration Law 285-04 and deport them to their country of origin.
