In the night from Wednesday to Thursday, several houses of Haitians were burned by unidentified people in the community of Los Montes, municipality of Jamao (North) in reprisals for the killing on Tuesday night by Haitians of Zoilo Antonio Veras Brito (55 years old)

According to our information, it is during a violent dispute Tuesday night with Haitians, that Zoilo Antonio Veras Brito accompanied by several of his friends, would have been killed.

Following this crime, a Haitian, identified as "Maicol" was arrested and thanks to the rapid intervention of the police he avoided being lynched by an angry population.

According to the videos circulating on social networks, the houses burned were unoccupied, no victims have been reported so far.

After what happened in Los Montes, residents demand the departure of Haitians from the region to avoid further reprisals and a bloodbath "[...] we do not want Haitians here, so that no misfortune will happen, "said a resident.

Recall that it is the 4th Dominican killed by compatriots in the last 7 weeks.
