Wednesday, Mayor Rony Colin of Croix-des-Bouquets, in the presence of Deputy Mayors Jean Jonas Saint-Juste and Géraldine Cétoute, Mayor's Chief of Staff, Mr. Jacky C. Pierre and representatives of partner institutions at the Town Hall (Global Communities, American Red Cross, UCLBP, DINEPA, UN-HABITAT), has launched the construction works of a 500 m3 drinking water tank at Canaan 5 and the implementation of a drinking water supply network to supply the entire Canaan area.

This project, initiated by the Croix-des-Bouquets Town Hall, benefited from the financial support of the American Red Cross and the technical support of Global Communities and the Housing and Public Buildings Unit (UCLBP).

Several drinking water sites will be constructed and 7.5 linear km of pipeline from Sibert to Canaan will be installed to provide access to drinking water for the entire population of Canaan and surrounding areas.

Let's remember that the town hall of Croix-des-Bouquets pays particular attention to Canaan and undertakes several works in the area including: the rehabilitation of several roads, the construction of community centers, schools, health centers, public squares and public markets...
