Monday at the Montana Hotel, as part of the closing ceremony of the International Symposium on Education, the Ministry of National Education and the Collège Catts Pressoir paid tribute to the well-known Haitian ex-teacher and feminist activist and respected, Odette Roy Fombrun, for her great contribution to education in Haiti, author of many educational and civic books, sacred "National Treasure alive" in 2009 and who will celebrate in a few days her 101 years (June 13, 2018).

Minister Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet presented on behalf of the Collège Catts Pressoir and the Ministry a plaque of honor and merit and praised the invaluable work of this icon of the education system. Pointing out the immense work done by this great Haitian educator, Minister Cadet emphasized that her reputation goes beyond national borders.

The key of the Haitian educators' gallery was also awarded to Mrs. Fombrun by Minister Cadet.

In her intervention, after the usual thanks Fombrun advocated for an education system with a focus on technician training. She took the opportunity to renew her commitment to continue serving the education sector, despite her very advanced age.
