Tuesday at the Convention Center of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH), President Jovenel Moïse, officially launched the first symposium on public procurement in Haiti, in the presence, among others, of the President of the Superior Court of Accounts and Administrative Litigation (CSC / CA), technical and financial partners, several Directors General, the Coordinator of the Commission for Public Finance Reform and Economic Governance, Commissioners of the National Commission for Public Procurement (CNMP) and senior public administration executives.

While welcoming the theme : "Ethics and transparency, means of fight against corruption in public procurement" the Head of State speaking at the opening of the conference, said the problem of public procurement involves a double reality : " [...] corruption, a crime against development, and the determination of the Moïse-Lafontant government to confront this enemy of national development.

[...] It is no secret that corruption is a national scourge. This monster extends its tentacles to become a problem of an international dimension on which it is advisable to lean with the faith of a fighter emeritus and the dynamism of an idealistic researcher.

I am pleased to congratulate the CNMP for the initiative of this conference, who doesn't need justification. his is the first time that all the actors of the public order is gathering to discuss such a decisive subject for the rationalization of public spending [...]

If, all together, we seize the common enemy arm in arm, we will eventually defeat it. Then, every public expense will be executed efficiently. Thus, the national wealth will benefit every Haitian : rich or poor, young or old [...]" assuring that "there will never be contracts that do not respect the interests of the Haitian State. "
