Sonia Orisme, the Departmental Director for the Environment West, in the presence of Yolette Altidor, the Director General of the Ministry of the Environment, some Directors and executives of the Ministry, officially launched on June 22 in the public square of the Canapé-Vert, a public awareness campaign on the protection and management of the environment, which aims to strengthen the presence of the Ministry with the population of the West Department.

Orismé explained that through these actions, the Ministry wants to ensure the commitment and involvement of the entire population in the protection, conservation of the environment. Dissemination of awareness spots, Planting trees in sites of general interest, Sanitation, Environmental Talk and Workshops are among other activities that will coordinate the DDO-MDE.

At the end of the day, the market and Place of Canapé-Vert were cleaned up by West environmental agents, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Solid Waste Collection Service (SMCRS).
